CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

When benefit cuts force a blind opportunist to move in with her frenetic, elderly Aunt above a neglected tattoo parlour, they fight eviction whilst inadvertently running a charity shop.

Low on funds and desperate to move out of her health hazard flat, Ali strikes a deal with her duplicitous cousin Sheridan and moves in with her whimsical, Aunt Claude. Claude is pleased to have the company but little does she know that her days in her own home may be numbered.

"You’ve created some incredibly memorable characters; eccentrics, grotesques even worthy of the League of Gentlemen, or back further, Joe Orton. Congratulations!"

Scriptspace feedback at The Space Arts Centre

"Amusing and inventive comedy, at times a satire, on family, money and age. The characters are very clearly conceived and presented, and there is a strong theatrical imagination at work in the settings and symbolism. Very distinctive and arresting"
